The University of Pittsburgh's School of Public Health honors Nepal's Rajesh Pandav and eight other alumnis for their contributions to public health.

The School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh will honor nine distinguished alumni for their exceptional contributions to the field of public health during an award ceremony tonight. Amongst the honorees is a Nepalese alumnus, Rajesh Pandav.
As the school celebrates its 75th anniversary, Dean Maureen Lichtveld, M.D., M.P.H., and Jonas Salk, Professor of Population Health, expressed their admiration for the many generations of researchers, educators, and public health experts who have started their careers at Pitt Public Health. Tonight, she has the esteemed opportunity to acknowledge nine alumni who exemplify the institution's spirit by facilitating positive change in communities both nationally and internationally.
Rajesh Pandav, M.B.B.S., M.P.H., a graduate of the class of 2001, will be presented with the Alumni Award for Practice. Currently serving as the World Health Organization (WHO) Representative to the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, Pandav boasts over two decades of service with WHO. Throughout his tenure, he has held various positions including roles at the Mental Health and Substance Abuse Unit in the Regional Office for South-East Asia Region, as well as assignments in the Country Office for Maldives and the Country Office for Timor-Leste.
