Nepal Triumphs Over UAE in T20 Tournament; Already reached Final

Nepal dominates the tri-nation T20 cricket tournament and defeats the UAE in their last group game. Nepal maintains its stellar performance and firepower.

On the 5th game of the ongoing Tri-nation T20 cricket tournament in Nepal played today, Nepal beat UAE by 5 wickets. Batting first, the UAE made 164 for 7 in their 20 overs, in reply to which Nepal reached the target in 19.2 overs with the loss of five wickets .
Earlier, Nepal won the toss and asked UAE to bat first. Vriitya Aravind made 45 of 51 balls with four fours. Similarly, Basil Hameed made an impressive 45 of just 19 balls with two fours and five massive sixes. Besides these two, there were no other major contributions from the UAE side. ย
The start of Nepal bowling was very good. They were able to remove two UAE batsmen inside three overs. After the initial loss of 2 wickets, UAE had a small partnership of 38 runs between Vriitya Aravind and Asif Khan. Another major partnership was between Vriitya Aravind and Basil Hameed for 32 runs. Nepal used 6 bowlers in all. Among them, Sompal Kami and Avinash Bohara were the most effective ones with two wickets a piece. Karan KC was a bit expensive considering 53 runs in 4 overs, though he took one wicket.
In reply to UAE's 164, Nepal made the worst start possible losing opener Kushal Bhurtel for one run and one down Sompal Kami for just two runs. Next incoming batsman Kushal Malla was out for zero. But the second opener ย Asif Sheikh and Captain Rohit Paudel had a great partnership of 99 runs for the fourth wicket. Asif Sheikh made 62 of 50 balls and Rohit Paudel made 47 of 42 balls. Deependra Singh Airee continuing his impressive run of form off late, scored a blistering 40 of just 15 balls with six fours and one massive six. ย
For the UAE ย Muhammad Jawadullah was the best bowler with two wickets and considering just 27 runs in his four overs. There was no other worth mentioning bowling from UAE's side. In the end, Nepal comfortably reached its target in 19.2 overs. The Nepalese batsman controlled shots in the middle part and brilliant firepower by Airee at the end proved too much for the UAE.ย
For his magnificent 40 of just 15 balls, Deependra Singh Airee was adjudged man of the match. Nepal has already secured its spot in the final with the win in their previous match against Hong Kong. The next match will be played between Hong Kong and UAE ย on October 25, 2023.ย
