Tourism Industry Booms - Visitors Skyrocket in March 2023

Nepal's tourism rebounds with 100,000 visitors in March 2023, led by tourists from India, the USA, and Europe, showing recovery post-COVID-19.

According to the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), approximately 100,000 travelers visited Nepal in March of this year. Out of this, 33,454 were from SAARC countries, 15,643 were from other Asian countries, 23,265 have been from Europe, and 3,958 were from the Oceania region. Additionally, Nepal welcomed 1,707 and 9,557 visitors from Canada and the USA respectively. The Middle East contributed 10,375 visitors.Β
The highest number of tourists came from India with a total of 25,911 visitors, which was 15,013 during the same period in 2022. Similarly, tourist arrivals from the USA in March were nearly double in comparison to the corresponding period in the previous year. In 2022, 4,896 travelers from the USA visited Nepal. The major tourist flows have been from India, the USA, the UK, Germany, and Sri Lanka among all the countries.Β
These statistics suggest that Nepalβs tourism industry is recovering well following the COVID-19 pandemic.
