THAI Airways reinstates nonstop flights between Kathmandu and Bangkok, enhancing connectivity and travel convenience.

THAI Airways, Thailand's official carrier, has recently declared the reinstatement of nonstop flight services between Kathmandu and Bangkok. Originally inaugurated in 1968, this route experienced a suspension in March 2022 due to the ramifications of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As of October 29, 2023, THAI Airways has revitalized its operations in Nepal, choosing Society International Travel Services as its General Sales Agent. The airline employs an Airbus 320 – a single-aisle jet – for this particular venture.
After receiving favorable feedback from travelers, THAI Airways expanded its offerings with a second daily flight beginning on December 15, 2023. The airline's current fleet includes diverse models such as the Airbus 320, Boeing 777, Dreamliner 787, and Airbus 350 – each acclaimed for their comfortable seating and entertainment systems. For added convenience, THAI Airways encourages passengers to download their mobile app to book flights and utilize Royal Orchid Plus amenities.
Sales director Khun Wit Kitchathorn commemorated the relaunch of direct flights as a step towards bolstering links between Nepal and Thailand, as well as the larger international community.
Rabi Chandra Singh from Society International Travel Services and RR Group underscored the enduring appeal of Nepal for those drawn to its cultural richness and natural splendor. He emphasized that the resumption of service is attuned to their dedication to providing smooth travel experiences.
By 2024, THAI Airways projects to operate a fleet of 73 aircraft with an average daily usage of nearly 13 hours. The airline has refined its flight timing strategies to accommodate escalating travel demands and enhance network connectivity.
