Sukute Beach, a coastline along the Bhote Koshi river in Sindhupalchok district, has made its mark on Nepal's adventure sports scene by introducing thrilling activities like the Hammock and 360-degree swing for the first time in the country. The unique 360-degree swing offers an adrenaline-pumping experience as participants freely spin while suspended in mid-air. This attraction is proudly heralded as the first of its kind in Nepal. Other exhilarating activities include a 220-meter-long zip line crossing the Bhote Kosi River and an equally long sky rope cycle available for individual or tandem use.
Thrill Valley Pvt Ltd invested roughly Rs 10 million into these exciting adventures in Sukute. Mahendra Shrestha, Jakjan Khadka, and Raj KC, who are all active in the rafting business, initiated the venture. Owner Shrestha expressed their goal to cater to adventure seekers looking for unique experiences.
Those curious about costs will be pleased to find special launch discounts available until the Tihar festival. Pricing is as follows: Rs 300 per person for the swing, Rs 300 per person for the cable car, Rs 1,000 per person for the sky bicycle, and Rs 1,500 for the double sky bicycle. A fee of Rs 200 has also been set for family ping and the Guleli swing. With approximately 70 kilometers from Kathmandu, making it an ideal spot for both locals and tourists.
The Hammock cable car features a hammock attached to it which swings while the cable car moves. For the tandem sky rope cycle, which is designed for individual or tandem use, the cycle and passenger are securely fastened with safety ropes and follow appropriate safety measures.
Sukute Beach has become a favorite destination for weekend escapes, thanks to its proximity to the city and numerous activities such as rafting, camping, hiking, and more. The beach offers well-equipped camping sites where you can rent a tent and enjoy a night under the stars accompanied by the river's gentle sounds. As evening approaches, gather around a bonfire for a BBQ and storytelling with friends or fellow travelers. Several hiking trails are available around Sukute Beach, with one popular route leading to a hilltop that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the area. Explore nearby villages to immerse yourself in local culture, traditions, and Nepalese cuisine.
The number of domestic tourists visiting Sukute Beach continues to increase due to its popularity as a premier rafting and entertainment destination. The Bhote Koshi River's water is cleaner than the Trishuli River, making it more appealing for rafting enthusiasts. Additionally, the absence of crusher industries near Sukute helps maintain clean river water.
Reaching Sukute is easy as it's only about 70 km from Kathmandu. You can access it via Dolalghat using public or private transportation. Kathmandu's bus park to Sukute fares are approximately Rs 300 on public buses, while vehicles like Sumo charge around Rs 500.
