Rara Lake Tourism Boost: Over 4,600 Visitors Enjoy Scenic Beauty

Rara Lake sees a spike in visitors, welcoming 4,611 tourists, including 96 foreigners, signaling a significant increase in tourism this year.

The famous Rara Lake in Rara National Park in Karnali province experienced a spike in tourists and visitors this year. As per the National Park Authority report, there were a total of 4,611 visitors between July 17 and November 16, 2023.
During these four months, Rara Lakeβs beauty was visited by 4,490 domestic tourists and 96 foreign tourists including 24 tourists from SAARC nations. This huge increase signals growth compared to the past years.
Mr. Jay Hari Dhital β Information from Rara National Park reveals that there were very high volumes of domestic travel, especially during the Dashain-Tihar festival season that generated revenue of NRs 1.2 million for the park.
Last year, Rara attracted 11,000 Nepali tourists, 26 SAARC visitors, and about 183 foreign tourists.
The national park has implemented an entry fee system for different categories of tourists. As per it, the fee for domestic tourists is NRs 100, for tourists from SAARC nations it is NRs 1,500 and for other tourists, it is NRs 3,000.
At present, up to 75% of visitors come by air while the rest prefer road transport to visit the park.
