The remains of yet another Nepali student, a victim of the Hamas attack in Israel on October 7, have been returned to Nepal tomorrow on 26th October, 2023. Ganesh Kumar Nepali from Bajhang district arrived today on a Fly Dubai Airlines plane, according to Sharad Raj Aran, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. So far, five out of the ten deceased Nepali students have been returned to their homeland. DNA samples from relatives of the remaining five students have been sent to Israel for verification, and their bodies will be returned to Nepal upon completion of necessary procedures, Joint Secretary Aran added.

Ganesh Kumar Nepali is among the five students whose bodies have been returned home, alongside Lokendra Singh Dhami, Dipesh Raj Bista, Narayan Prasad Neupane, and Ashish Chaudhary. These students were part of the Far West University's 'Learn and Earn' program in Israel.

Previously, the bodies of the four students killed in the attack were returned to Nepal - two of the victims' bodies arrived in Nepal on October 21 night and the other two on the afternoon of October 22. Other victims yet to be returned include Ananda Saha, Rajesh Kumar Swarnakar, Rajan Phulara, Padam Thapa, and Prabesh Bhandari. Bipin Joshi from Kanchanpur district remained missing since the attack.

On October 7, 2023, Hamas suddenly attacked Israel in the morning, resulting in numerous deaths including citizens from different countries. Among those attacked were 17 Nepalese agricultural students working on a farm. Tragically, ten lost their lives in the attack; two managed to remain unharmed; four suffered injuries; and Bipin Joshi went missing with his current status unknown. A team led by Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayan Prakash Saud rescued 254 students and brought them back to Nepal from Israel several days later.
