In Rimna, Jajarkot's Bheri Municipality-1, the process of setting up a mobile tower has begun. Under the guidance of Nepal Telecom's Managing Director Sangita Pahadi, a monitoring team has embarked on operational preparations for the tower following an inspection of areas recently affected by a 6.4-magnitude earthquake. Upon the tower's activation, Nepal Telecom plans to distribute free SIM cards to residents within its coverage. Despite being within municipal boundaries, locals have grappled with inadequate telephone connectivity.

Director Pahadi explained that efforts are being made to establish a new tower in Dalli, which serves as the administrative hub for Nalgad Municipality. A technical team has conducted on-the-ground surveys throughout the district to determine locations with both adequate and insufficient phone connectivity. With the aim of delivering exceptional services across earthquake-stricken Jajarkot, Rukum, and neighboring districts, the telecom authority executed on-site supervision and evaluated the condition and capacity of towers within these disaster-prone zones.

Major General Bishwabandhu Thapa, Chief Engineer of the Jajarkot-Dolpa road construction task force and Nepali Army member had informed Director Pahadi’s team about telecommunication challenges and possible solutions in the region. He expressed his belief that extending exemplary telecom services along the route from Rukum and Jajarkot through Dolpa will alleviate communication-related difficulties for locals and gain their trust.

In response to directions from Communication and Information Technology Minister Rekha Sharma and at the request of Minister Shakti Bahadur Basnet (Power, Water Resource and Irrigation), an elite Nepal Telecom group embarked on visits to nearby villages. Director Pahadi mentioned that they have coordinated with local governments to deploy technicians to construct additional towers where needed. She assured that dependable, high-quality services will result from currently under construction towers.
