Nepal Gears Up for its Third Investment Conference in April 2024

The government is preparing to organize a notable investment conference this coming April. The event signifies the third instance of such a conference being held in Nepal.

Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, Finance Minister, disclosed that thorough preparations are being made to conduct the investment conference in Kathmandu on the 21st and 22nd of April. A steering committee, led by the finance minister himself, has been formed to supervise the event.

Today, the inaugural gathering of the board of directors occurred, during which Dr. Mahat, Finance Minister, provided valuable information about the impending investment conference.

"Preparations for the investment conference have started. This forum is not only dedicated to attracting international investment; it also aspires to bring together Nepali and non-resident investors. We will actively involve foreign embassies in publicizing the investment conference," stated Dr. Mahat, Finance Minister.

The orchestration of the conference requires an implementation committee chaired by the chief secretary and a technical committee headed by the secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supply. The secretariat for this third investment conference will be accommodated within the Investment Board of Nepal's office.

Duties such as legal reforms, handling technical matters, disseminating information to investors, and other associated tasks will fall under the supervision of both implementation and technical committees.

Additionally, Dr. Mahat, Finance Minister, instructed that projects be readied for showcasing as featured initiatives during this significant investment conference.
