MetLife Nepal CEO Nirmal Kajee Shrestha now leads AmCham, prioritizing foreign investments and enhancing trade relations with the United States.

Nirmal Kajee Shrestha has been chosen as the president of the American Chambers of Commerce Nepal (AmCham), a collective organization of businesses operating in Nepal with American investment.
Following the completion of founding President Ajit Bikram Shah's two-year term, the second Annual General Meeting (AGM) of AmCham, which took place on Sunday in Kathmandu, unanimously elected a new working committee led by Shrestha, who serves as the Chief Executive Officer of MetLife, American Life Insurance Company Nepal.
During an upcoming meeting, the AmCham Board of Directors will nominate the Vice-Chairman, Secretary, and Treasurer.

Additionally, members chosen for the working committee include Kailash Raj Bijayananda from Leapfrog Technology, Ashim Man Singh Basnyat from Pathao Nepal, Aakash Golchha from Go Ford, Manish Thapa from Laxmi Sunrise Bank Limited, Samarth Mogha from Mogha Energy, and Sneh Rajbhandari from Bottlers Nepal Limited.
In recognition of Shah's contributions to AmCham's establishment, he has been nominated as an Honorary Member of the Board and Founding Chairman. Similarly, Semanta Dahal from Abhinav Law Chambers will join the working committee as an Honorary Member.
Shrestha shared his enthusiasm about leading a team with dynamic officials and members to advance organizational and business interests. He also emphasized the plan to prioritize foreign investments in energy, tourism, and information technology sectors. AmCham intends to organize and participate in various investment- and enterprise-related conferences in Nepal and other nations to promote Nepal as an investment destination in international markets.
As the 130th affiliate in the global network of the American Chamber of Commerce, Nepal's AmCham is crucial for promoting trade with the United States and attracting investments from there.
The AGM unanimously approved both financial and annual progress reports presented by the treasurer and secretary of the previous working committee, with the meeting facilitated by Amir Raj Thapa, Executive Officer of AmCham Secretariat.
