Manaslu Circuit Trek is a beautiful journey that takes you around the eighth highest mountain in the world. To make the most of your trek, we recommend the following do's and don'ts:
Do's:
Acclimatize slowly to the altitude: The trek starts at 700 meters and goes up to 5,160 meters at the Larkya La Pass. Take enough time to acclimatize to the altitude by walking at a slow and steady pace and taking rest days in between.
Hire a local guide with knowledge of the local flora and fauna: A local guide can provide valuable information about the region's unique wildlife and vegetation.
Carry warm clothing and prepare for extreme weather: The temperature can drop below freezing, especially at night, so make sure to pack warm clothes and a good quality sleeping bag. Be prepared for sudden weather changes, especially during the monsoon season (June to August).
Don'ts:
Don't litter: Carry your trash with you and dispose of it properly. The Manaslu region is a beautiful and fragile ecosystem, and we must protect it from pollution.
Don't disturb the wildlife or their habitat: The Manaslu Conservation Area is home to several endangered species, including the snow leopard, so make sure not to disturb their natural habitat.
Don't underestimate the weather conditions: Be prepared for sudden weather changes, especially during the monsoon season (June to August). Be aware of the risk of landslides and flash floods, and take necessary precautions.
