Millipede

Millipede

Millipedes are arthropods that belong to the class Diplopoda. They are found in many different habitats, including forests, deserts, and grasslands. In Nepal, millipedes are commonly found in the forests.

Millipedes are generally harmless to humans and are considered beneficial as they help to break down decaying plant material, returning nutrients to the soil. However, some species of millipedes can release toxic substances that can cause skin irritation or allergic reactions in some people.

If you come into contact with a millipede and experience skin irritation or an allergic reaction, it is important to wash the affected area with soap and water. Applying an ice pack or a cool, wet compress can also help to reduce swelling and pain. If your symptoms are severe or you experience difficulty breathing, seek medical attention immediately.
