Ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia) is a highly allergenic plant species found in many parts of the world, including Nepal. The plant is a member of the sunflower family and produces small, greenish flowers that bloom from late summer to early fall.

Ragweed is known to cause allergic reactions in many people, with symptoms including runny nose, itchy eyes, sneezing, and congestion. In severe cases, it can also cause asthma attacks and other respiratory issues.

To avoid contact with ragweed, it is recommended to stay indoors during peak pollen times (early morning and late afternoon), keep windows and doors closed, and use air conditioning or HEPA filters to reduce the amount of pollen indoors. If you have to spend time outdoors, wear a face mask, long sleeves, and pants to minimize exposure.

If you accidentally come into contact with ragweed, it is important to remove the pollen as soon as possible. Wash your hands and face thoroughly with soap and water, and change your clothes to prevent further exposure. Over-the-counter antihistamines and decongestants can also help alleviate symptoms, but it is important to consult a doctor if symptoms persist or worsen.
