Chinaberry

Chinaberry

Chinaberry, also known as Bakaino in Nepali, is a tree commonly found in Nepal. While it is used as food for livestock, it is important to note that the tree and its fruits contain a toxin called azadirachtin. This toxin can cause various symptoms in humans if ingested or if the sap from the tree comes into contact with the skin, including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, and in severe cases, convulsions and coma.

It is true that many people in Nepal have climbed or played around chinaberry trees without experiencing any negative effects. However, it is still important to be cautious around the tree and its fruits and to avoid ingesting or coming into contact with the sap. If you do experience any symptoms after coming into contact with chinaberry, seek medical attention immediately.
