Gaurishankar Conservation - Wildlife

Himalayan Musk Deer: Another inhabitant of the high-altitude regions of the Himalayas, this deer species is known for its distinctive scent glands, which are used to produce musk. They are relatively small, with a height of around 2.5 feet and a weight of up to 55 pounds.

Red Panda: This adorable and rare animal is found in the forests of the Himalayas, including Gaurishankar Conservation Area. They are known for their distinctive reddish-brown fur and long, bushy tails. Red pandas are arboreal and spend most of their time in trees.
