Saptaparni

Saptaparni

Saptaparni, scientifically known as Alstonia scholaris, is a medium-sized evergreen tree that grows up to 30 meters in height. It is characterized by its dense canopy of glossy, leathery leaves arranged in whorls of seven, giving it the name "Saptaparni," which means "seven-leaved" in Sanskrit. The tree produces fragrant white flowers with small yellow centers, which attract pollinators. The bark of Saptaparni is grayish-brown and rough in texture. It is native to the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia and is often planted as an ornamental tree in parks and gardens due to its attractive appearance and shade-providing qualities.
