Poinsettia

Poinsettia

Poinsettia, Known as “Lalupate” in Nepal, is a popular and iconic plant native to Mexico and Central America but it is now widely planted in the suitable climate areas across Nepal. It is also one of the most known flowers in Nepal. It has vibrant and showy bracts that come in various colors, including red, pink, white, and even variegated varieties. The bracts surround small, inconspicuous flowers at the center. Poinsettias are valued for their ornamental value and are often used as decorative plants indoors and outdoors. They require bright light and moderate temperatures to thrive and are known to symbolize the spirit of the holiday season. However, it's important to note that Poinsettias are mildly toxic to humans and pets, so caution should be exercised when handling them.
